First Years First of Dubuque County, a collaborative partnership committed to early childhood, recently trained 47 community childcare providers and organization representatives on the Born Learning campaign. Participants of our Train-the-Trainer workshop were provided with the information and skills needed to share the Born Learning message, discuss its importance with families, and provide activities and ideas to promote early learning in our community. These messengers have already taken steps to talk with parents, grandparents and informal caregivers to share the Born Learning message and materials. The outreach of these trusted messengers is vital in improving the lives of young children in Dubuque County and a required component for the state-funded First Years First grant.
Businesses, childcare centers, and agencies serving families can contact Dubuque County Empowerment to schedule workshop training or request information about local early childhood resources at (563) 588-1620.
